If you see the LOW BATTERY LED on the remote flicker on an off every 8 seconds as shown below, it indicates that the Auto Power Off feature has been disabled.
If the batteries need replacing, you would see a constant blinking LED:
The expected battery life is 40 Hrs for the multimode source and 30 Hrs for the singlemode source.
